2016 BATCH 'B' (STREAM II) ORIENTATION COURSE COMMENCES 24TH JANUARY 2017

The NYSC Management wishes to inform prospective Corps members and other stakeholders that the 2016 Batch 'B' (Stream II) Orientation course will commence on Tuesday, 24th January, 2017.
.

The lineup of activities for the course is shown below:

a. Tue 24th - Wed 25th, Jan 2017 - Registration/verification exercise

b. Thursday, 26th January, 2017 - Swearing-in ceremony

c. Monday, 13th February, 2017 - Closing ceremony

Prospective Corps members are advised to report to camp at the scheduled date as registration/verification will end at midnight of January 25, 2017.

All are also to note that original copies of academic credentials and other documents uploaded during the online registration MUST be presented on camp for physical verification.

In addition, all Prospective Corps members MUST present medical certificates from government or military hospitals showing their health status before they will be registered and admitted for the Orientation course.

Management wishes prospective Corps members safe journey to their respective camps as well as a successful Orientation course.

Official: NYSC Confirms Date For 2016 Batch B Streams.

The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), has assured university graduates that it has made necessary arrangements to ensure eligible prospective corps members, are mobilised in the next service year.
In a chat with newsmen in Abuja on Wednesday, the Director General of the NYSC, Brigadier-General Sule Kazaure, disclosed that 2016 Batch ‘B’ stream 1 will commence orientation exercise on the 24th of November while stream 2 are expected to commence orientation in January 2017.
The DG said, “In the 2016 budget, provision was made for the mobilisation of a total of 210,000 corps members. However, the figure for both 2016 Batch ‘A’ and Batch ‘B’ has more than doubled the original projection,” he said.
“Like we did before the 2016 Batch ‘A’ orientation course, we have appealed to the government for special intervention grant to mop up excess of this figure.
“So far, we have received the green light from the relevant government agencies to prepare for the mobilisation of all qualified prospective corps members.
“However, the limited cumulative capacity of the orientation camps nationwide necessitates a second stream orientation course for the 2016 Batch ‘B’ which is planned for January 2017,” he added.
